| North – south carriageway is planned as an alternative to the National Highway n.18. It will be boardered by sound absorbing panels, covered by unified green wall made of steel and metal mesh. South - north carriageway is dedicated to mixture of functions connected by mostly pedestrian routes with surrounding villages. Public open space on existing highway sections may be arranged in different ways, also non – formal, just suggested by visual identification of GREEN CONNECT. We would like to encourage people to make a maximal use of the space, inspire them to different actions, activities and spontanious arrangements of the place. The project is equipped with numerous eco – frendly devices and technologies, allowing production of renewable energy e.g. by use of wind, re-use of rain water etc. The whole structure is illuminated by night, creating unique site – specific effect visible from distant places on earth and sea. Estimated cost is 36 million Euros. |
