| in mercator 1, part of the mercator technology & science park one third of the floor area comprises laboratory units and the remainder consists of office units. the design takes account of the requirement for maximum flexibility in leasing arrangements for innovative, high-tech companies with limited floor space requirements. the newly developed energy efficient climate-control facade contributes to the energy management of the whole building. the transparent design of the facade gives a hint of the activities going on inside. in contrast to the glass, the wood cladding applied to the facade of the ground floor helps it blend in with the surrounding park. |
