The traditional garden layout is constructed by a set of points with a fixed number of relations focusing on a centre. This layout is conceived for the stimulation of the mindscape in an ordered space. It is an entity for a singular person. This hierarchic layout is transformed into a non-hierarchic system of nodes and connections. The original number of nodes as well as the total length of the path is maintained. Geometric shapes (cones) are inscribed into the resulting fields. Those cones are dividing the field into segments with restricted views. As a result the connections are elevated from the ground, as they represent a section of the cone shape. The entrance points into the garden are connected with the shortest path, representing the fastest itinerary through the garden. This is considered to be the major trajectory of motion. A grid, representing the degree of deflection from the main path is introduced, in order to distinguish between extroverted and introverted areas. |
