The proposed intervention for the Solar Park South favors an systematic approach to the development of the old viaduct stretch which is interpreted as a gradual creation of a dynamic "built ecology" along the axis of the South-North viaduct, as opposed to a monolithic, single-stage intervention. It envisions a development that adapts to the needs of the area, while maintaining a coherent character and a decisive approach towards the conservation of the natural landscape. Furthermore, it attempts to introduce the notion of autonomy to the operation of the solar park on an economic as well as an energy level. The proposal focuses on describing a viable, attractive and effective way of bridging the gap between ecology, sustainability, culture and the local towns and resorts already present. It aims to describe a mode of operation that will help the proposed solar park to truly boost the local finance as well as culture, while demonstrating a prototype relation to the landscape. |
