Photovoltaic cells and solar collectors, placed on the green-houses, will produce electric energy and warm water for heating and cooling. The green-houses built for 40Euros/sqm provide the POWER GRILL restaurant with food, produce biomass and earn government aid for the PVs.
Viaduct=wind park:
On the viaducts, small highly efficient wind turbines will produce electric energy. The wind turbines, a small flexible 3MW turbine plant, are using the natural forces of up and down-winds in the valleys. We provide 10 milions kW/h per year, enough for 11.500 people, most of the local population.
Tunnel=energy storage:
The problem of storing produced energy with the highway is solved by using the tunnels as storage. The tunnels are storing the gained energy in the salt hydrate tanks in order to supply the nearby communities of Scilla and Bagnara.
Lathough the structure is transformed into a power-plant, it will show little impact to the existing appearance of the highway.
