The main idea is to divide the carriageway (south north) into sections that represent different types of renewable energies. Closer to the intersections there are buildings dedicated to research. New buildings are built under the bridges or as light parasite buildings attached to the bridges. The highway will be an open air exhibition area of renewable energies. Parts closer to the intersections offer services like cafeterias. All the energy used in the south north carriageway will be produced in the area as well. Excess energy is directed to the local electricity network. The artistic concept for the design is “recycling the highway”. For example old road signs (made of steell) will be reused as tree basins, trashcans, lamp posts. The signs painted to the pavements will be extruded to 3 d objects and will serve as benches, info walls etc. Another theme for the design is “the green takeover”. An idea of an old highway where the vegetation eventually will cover the pavement
