| Old highway, support of new urbanity. The new highway will reduce travel times from nearby cities and encourage new people to come in Calabria. Calabria is an major region of food's production (fruit, vegetable,...).With the new highway the tourist's attraction will expand . To preserve the existing harmony between nature / agriculture / housing, it must preserve the territory of the « sprawl » and organizing new dense housing clusters. The Calabrian coast is a land strip organized by a succession of small villages along main routes. (Railway, local roads, existing highway ...)Tomorrow, towns expansion is very compromised. Its development is constrained by the sea on one side and hard topography on the other side. The decommissioning highway is an opportunity to connect a new village's network "zero energy" along the new path. The villages will use local resources, local materials to build (stone, wood ,...), local food production and renewable energy (water, sun ,...) |
