Design as a system: this proposal comes from thinking design as a system. The 10-km highway crosses different settlements, landscape, traffic and areas, thus the planning should deal with tasks from different dimensions. Although the highway is typically linear, the start point and destination are not the only goals anymore because the conjoint linear space is divided into fragments embedding into the surrounding context. The conjoint line becomes numerous connecting points, and the system design and its goal of each dimension are done in the points. Sustainable design: this proposal and its realization are based on sustainability. With the charily planned solar panel, water tank in the tunnels and small biomass technology, the hanging garden can be completely energy-self-sufficient and really grow back to the nature. The sustainability is not only embodied by design but also by construction which are low-cost construction, maintenance and commercial value, cultural and social value. |
