AcquaSole is a rubber mat filled with water flowing through the mat under high pressure. Pre-fabricated rolls are delivered on-site. Construction can be performed very quickly using the custom designed AcquaSole Truck. Traffic disruption is minimal since the lead time for the construction of AcquaSole is small. AcquaSole is applied on road and bridge deck surfaces of the A3 in both directions. The idea of sustainability has been leading in the development of AcquaSole; AcquaSole generates renewable energy and is made entirely from recycled tires. AcquaSole extends the lifespan of roads and bridges in three ways: - the forces of the traffic on the road are spread over the underground - the road is cooled in the summer period - vibrations from traffic are absorbed By applying AcquaSole, the A3 can be maintained as a highway while solar electrical energy is generated. Italy will be one of the world’s top leading countries in sustainable innovation.
