Agri-Ladder is a system of parks that utilizes the space created by the decks of the old A3 and the dramatic topography below it. The parks, linked in a network, would serve as a public institution for research and the promotion of sustainable farming through agritourism. Each bridge site would be designated for a specific crop, its host bridge selected for climatic appropriateness. The concept is that by making a spectacle of the gap between the upper bridge and the ground below, the project would create an alternate energy infrastructure whereby through piezoelectric devices, photo voltaic sensors, bio-gas capture and gravity, visitors and farm animals would create electricity simply by moving from top to bottom. The institution would act as a continuous integrated farming system while accommodating attractions for visitors who would normally be travelling on the roadway without experiencing the views of the sea, the natural topography, and local farming and cuisine. |
