_Energy Spectrum_optimizes the parameters of a utility scaled installation as a means of establishing the solar park as both a power plant and technological spectacle. The fixed arrays, kept low to reduce wind uplift and minimize structural member sizes, are oriented south with a tilt angle between 38 and 15 degrees; the latter configuration maximizes energy generation during the influx of summer tourists. With a total of 29,000 square meters of surface area, the facility generates between 3.62 and 4.14 MW of electricity. Individual photovoltaic panels are then color treated—either through organic, light concentrating dyes or pigment silkscreened onto the backside glass of a silicon or thin film glazing unit—in order to create a series of chromatic fields within the coastal landscape. |
