| Viaducts and tunnels offer spaces that can be used for gatherings and meetings, or for exhibitions; or as workshops for artisan activities, for tourism initiatives; or as wine cellars with tasting facilities, and also for mushroom-cultivation beds. Structures such as bridges, viaducts and earth-retaining walls would be wholly renewed both in appearance and in spirit with decorative elements so as to render the visit pleasing. Land-art interventions; walls composed of and covered by green climbing-plants; flowering bugainvillea hedges; ‘fountains’ of green topiary, lawns and gardens, below which would run the pipes for innovative and experimental systems of energy production. There would be ways and means of transport: on horseback or horse-drawn, on footpaths and cycle tracks, as well as by electric cars moved by the energy produced on site. The estimated costs for this project amount to some 30 million €. |
