The design proposal interprets the concept of SUSTAINABILITY in a wider sense, to apply not only to the zone involved in the competition, but also to the surrounding built up area. We propose transferring, onto the section of the A3 motorway referred to in the competition, part of the surfaces that the urban planning departments of the municipalities involved intend to use for production activities and services.We intend to encourage a new procedure for managing the urban environment. Our operational method would be based on the following principles: •Reducing the use of new land, instead leaving this in its natural state or possibly making it available for agriculture; •Using the existing framework to provide the infrastructure for the new production sites and as an opportunity to plan for future development; We aim to set up a production site dedicated to technological research and experimentation in the renewable energy field, and in the area of green technologies in general.
