Visionary in its scope and approach to sustainable design, this proposal aims at implementing new technologies in renewable energies, saving traditional agricultural land, increasing biodiversity through habitat preservation and enhancement, improving touristic and recreational services supply, and measuring the sustainability costs and benefits of projects presented over recent time. Creating a combination of greenways, trails, and parklands of the highest quality standard; developing energy production facilities that are safe and economically sustainable; fostering creation of a well-loved community resource; creating a valuable recreational resource that is inclusive and serves a variety of needs and integrating on-going regional planning efforts, surrounding land uses, proposed private developments and public infrastructure improvements to create a symbiotic relationship between Costa Viola and its environment are the main goals pursued through the proposed intervention.
