| My early landscape experiences in Australia and Europe have allowed me to see California with extremely inquisitive eyes. I have found that whilst the vernacular of each site varies, the same design principals apply: observe the genius of the place, connect with the architecture, and respond to the personality of each client.
I see the arrangement of outdoor space as both a technical and artistic endeavor – one that evolves into a unified land art composition. This requires that I encourage clients to appreciate the most suitable and appropriate materials of the region, and that I design with economy and resourcefulness in mind. Ultimately, my aim is to design spaces that will inspire people to connect with a place in a deeper way. |
