| OKRA participated in the ‘Metropol Zone Experience’, organized by the city of Copenhagen. The plan is a strategic intervention in this zone, opposing the city centre and the main railway station. Its position near the centre has come into a new perspective since the new railway connection to the airport. The Metropolitan Zone needs a reorganisation on the basis of a new complex and diverse structure. The re-experience of the Metropolitan Zone needs simultaneity of different activities. The aim is to achieve a diversity of cultural interests and identities, in which the urban is open to constant reinterpretation. To organize this new composition firstly a framework is put down that address the key challenges in formulating a vision for the Metropolitan Zone. This frame include researching issues such as: access for all, an active city, an environmental city and the creation a destination with a clear identity. |
