Born in Osaka in 1969. Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Tokyo University of the Arts) in 1992. Completed the Master Course, Yale School of Architecture in 1996. Worked at Jun Aoki and Associates from 1996 to 2000. Established Office of Kumiko Inui in 2000. Now lecturer at Tokyo University, Waseda University, and Tokyo University of the Arts.
