The quintessence of our work is the search for appropriate spatial-structural concepts for specific sites. In this context the term of pertinence has a central meaning: It serves as a corrective, as superior criterion to validate the relevance and quality of our design and methods. This „putting into correlation“, being a constant review of the proportionality of novelty to something exisisting, requires ascrutiny of the nature of a place, its genius loci, taking into consideration the distinctive characteristics of its people and processes. Only an intensive examination of the identity of a place and the constant dialogue with all planning articipants makes the real potentials and possibilities accessible.
