SIMPARCH
LIVERPOOL - invited
IF-untitled supported SIMPARCH in realizing Drum ‘n basin installation which was the construction of a skater park within the A foundation gallery in Liverpool. It included a 6m radius full pipe and a Californian style kidney bean swimming pool for skaters to use. The all timber construction with its complex three dimensional curvatures of the kidney bean geometry was calculated by a mathematician in L.A. and was constructed on site within a three month period. The installation was open to public use for several months, during these period skater events and competitions were hosted drawing in diverse crowds to the gallery. After dismantling the structure it was given to a local skater park in the Lea Valley Park to attract young people and skater communities to practise their skills.
