The Zoo of Wuhan

Situated on an island in one of the numerous lakes of the lagoon system of Wuhan, the site enjoys an exceptional panorama. Water which is all-present around the city becomes the storyline of the redesigned Zoo. According to a unique concept, the animal exhibits will be organized following the way of the water from the mountain springs through the creek and the river, until the wetlands of a large delta. The marine life will be represented in a giant off-shore aquarium floating in the middle of the lake, called ‘the pearl of Wuhan’. A promenade through the remodeled island will teach about animals’ capacity for adapting to the various form of appearance of water.
