Schou Trucking Company asked us to design warehouses to store trucks. We decided to combine large free-span hangars with a grass roof. The simple arch steel-structure spans over 30 meters without columns. The roofing is made out of turf, which not only acts as heat and noise (rain) insulation, but also as a park. Depending on the ground used, different kinds of nature and green can be developed on the sloping roofs – making the warehouses appear as soft hills.
