Walckerpark
Ludwisburg - mentioned
The structure of Walckerpark is characterized by its urban planning situation: a spot close to the Castle of Ludwisburg and the high trafficated road B27, from which the future public space must be protected. Topography is the main actor of the new park. Recalling the movement in front of the castle, the existing structure is modeled to accommodate the new program. The edge along the street has increased to continue the noise barrier. Here the slopes serve as protection but will also be used as a playground for kids and teens. The car parking is also covered with the new topography and so integrated into the green area. In the western side of the park a new symbolic plaza, punctuated with thin and delicate light poles reminds the previous organ factory and guides the visitors trough the entrance of the site.
