Kinetic Overgrowth is a hybrid energy production network, mixing technology and nature into a modern interpretive park. It creates a new regional icon by harnessing local environmental phenomena, stimulating economy, enhancing historical culture, and providing a catalyst into green industry and social responsibility. From a distance, subtle lines of color create intrigue, while in person the infrastructure offers an interactive experience of nature and technology. The historic viaducts remain prominent in the landscape, complimented by large hair-like tubes hanging below communicating energy into LED light. A haze of vibrating wind turbines called Humdingers line the sides of the road, visually transitioning from performance indicators to generating systems. Photovoltaic panels reflect through the haze. Large green algae tendrils emerge from and dive into the tunnels, offering interactivity while stimulating algae growth into bio-fuel through the airflow agitation of passing vehicles. |
