| The aim of this project is the retrieval of an area of exceptional value, a territory which is an anthropical landscape with a very complex orography. The design works with respect for the landscape and the restoration of the environment, as an attempt to reinterpretate the agricultural function that still exists, the network of smalltowns, and to recover the dramatic views from mountain to sea, denying the deep artificial cut that has been created by the motorway, thanks to a new purpose given to the viaducts. The design being proposed can be divided in sections and, within certain limits, even if scaled it still retains its significance. The environmental and functional re-evaluation of three of the main viaducts can be seen as an experimental prototype that can be used for the whole area, so it can generate added value for the territory under a cultural and socio-economic point of view. |
