| The present project is located in a sensitive and brittle area in terms of morphology and environment. We estimate the reusable sections of motorway for 7 km outside the tunnel and 3 km inside. Half-track of the open tract will be used for solar panels (~18000 m^2) and for greenhouse cultivation. The other lane will be allocated to sustainable mobility. Different access to land, now in disuse, will be made for recovery/production of traditional crops (vineyards), managed by a consortium which will be located in a tunnel. The remaining tunnels will be so used: 4 for offices, 1 as technical room for photovoltaic batteries and the others as university research laboratories on the solar/geothermal, wind, geotechnical and seismic monitoring center. In correspondence of the highest bridge will rise a panoramic area overlooking the Strait of Messina equipped with innovative ICT technologies. The power management (lighting, lighting panels) of north-south tract will be by renewable energy. |
