Development is divided into 3 sectors: A:Steel structures stimulated by contextual possibilities, the cantilever form addresses the development access, and overcomes the limited space at carriageway level, roofed with thin-film PV panels; they also feature the carbon nano-tubes technology. B:Pneumatic structure system capable of adapting to the changing requirements of new solar technologies in experimentation phase. The pneumatic structure can be deflated to give more flexibility of space usage. C:Development relaxes and normalizes as it’s closing to its termination, the modular PV panels span over this sector and fade into the context. Solar panels coupled with steel structure are relatively a high-initial-cost proposal, however with adopting the new technology of the CdTe solar panels, purchase and installation of a 1sqm. might drop below 100$. Also possibly solar panels can be totally replaced in first phase with another smart synthetic recycled fabric as a cheap alternative. |
