Ken’ichi Otani was born in Illinois States, U.S.A in 1975. He spent his childhood in the United States and Canada. He received the Bachelor of Architecture in 1997 from Science University of Tokyo. In 2000 he received a Master of Architecture from Science University of Tokyo. Between 2001 and 2003 he worked for the office of Kumiko Inui in Tokyo, Japan. In 2003 He started his own practice in Tokyo, Japan. The practice is one of the leading young architectural practices in Japan. His work has been introduced to many countries. His recent works and projects include : House in Shimouma ,Tokyo (2005) and Renovated House in Higashi-Matsubara ,Tokyo (2009) and Renovated House in Yukigaya-Ohtsuka ,Tokyo (2010) and House in Hamadayama , Tokyo(2010-).
