At OLM, we consider landscape like a permanent field in construction in which complex spatial elements are organized. Landscape architecture projects emerge from situations in conflict at specific places between users, functions, forms and programs. We first study these places through the set of conditions that contribute to the making of shapes rather than the shapes themselves: accumulating effects, traces, architectural dispositif, dynamic systems that constitute them. We mean by dynamics all the natural and non natural transformations that affect the site morphology throughout time: erosion movements, water systems, flows, temperature variations, planting growth…
The office is particularly interested in the research of new topographic systems that generate ecological systems, temporal effects & hydrologic events at large scale. They reveal dynamic systems that promote diversity, richness and mediate our experience of landscape.
