Tower House
Treviso
The 'Tower House' is a residential high rise building in the suburbs of Treviso. The project starts with the demolition of the actual balconies in concrete and their substitution with new larger terraces hanged with metal structure. This external spaces will give even to the higher stores a way to interface with the outside. The new terraces will be wrapped, storey after storey, by white stripes of plastic fabric over light metallic frames. These 2 meters high bands will girdle each storey with a flexuous movement rendering the silhouette of the tower as a sequence of curved slices. Equally radical, the renewal task on the base of the tower consists basically on a change of use of the wide circular terrace: no more a bitumen no man's land, but a mosaic of private gardens.
