Perkpolder
Perpkpolder, Hulst - selected
In 2004, due to the fact that the ferry Kruiningen-Perkpolder was taken out-of-service, an assembly of local and national institutes decided to redevelop the area north of the village Kloosterzande. The goal is to turn the existing, relatively uniform landscape of Perkpolder into a diverse landscape, an attractive living accommodation and recreational area. The new landscape design is inspired by dike patterns, ground levels, the sweet water supply, the dynamics of the tide, current property boundaries and existing buildings. Eventually there will arise a new village centre, the port will become a nice meeting place, a golf course and nature will be developed. The project Perkpolder is a striking example of development planning and design in which Buro Lubbers plays an important role from the very beginning.
