The Zoo Paris-Vincennes
Paris, France - first prize
Our winner project proposes a new concept in the field of zoological establishments. The cages are to disappear, the boundaries to be rubbed out. The visit will unfold on several levels [in the air, in the tree canopy, and bellow the ground] so that people could get as close as possible to the original habitat of the different species. The landscape of the zoo will be entirely remodeled and organized into six biozones. The route will be punctuated by several information kiosks delivering messages about ecological responsibility. The artificial rocks, historical symbols of the Paris Zoo, will be restored or reconstructed and will form the background to the identity of the new zoological park.
