SLC - Shenzhen Logistic City
Shenzhen
Going from a small fishing village and border town, Shenzhen, in 26 years, has become an international business hub and metropolitan city of 12 million inhabitants. From being dependent on Hong Kong logistics and the international market, Shenzhen has the most international ports in China today and ranks fourth of the world’s busiest ports. It is the only Chinese city containing sea, land and air ports. Shenzhen Logistic City needs to be competitive in the international market and be upfront both in structural technology and sustainability. Shenzhen did not succeed in imposing rules aimed at preserving its heritage. This has resulted in a logic presenting flatness as the most efficient building base. The natural landscape and mountainous area has been flattened to create an efficient city, and leave the city today without border, backdrop or the scenery of the past.
