The history of a people has always been directly and indissolubly linked with its lands and the signs that are inferred from it. The desert, its symbols and its suggestions certainly represent a strong starting point from which to draw inspiration in expressing the fundamental role of the O.I.C. in the Islamic world; the project has been developed from this consideration. The geological sedimentation of the land, symbol of the time and the history of the places, have generated the idea of creating figuratively an icon-tower that might evoke the image of a “desert rose”, its many facets and its changing colours.
