The project is an extension of the 19th century villa that is located in a beautiful alpine resort by the lake Bled. Since both, the old villa and the landscape were under strict regulations by the National Heritage. The client major demand was to have the size of the main living area twice the size of the old existing villa. Also most of the spaces have to be orientated towards the lake. Client invited several architects for ideas. The main task was how to incorporate the new 700sqm addition regarding all the restrictions which the villa and the surrounded landscape had. Our project placed new spaces under the ground-floor of the existing villa. The extension forms rounded base around the house -a pillow covered by the landscape. The wooden pillow – looking from the other side of the lake – blurs with the surrounding landscape.
