HOUSE MBM - single family house
X
The south slope is 45° steep, the plot small and the budget minimal. With the help of some friends, the client – a craftsman himself – was able to brick up the walls between the concrete floors. The design takes all of this into consideration, intervenes into the area to the least possible extent, saves on excavated material and expensive concrete work on the slope. While sealing a minimum of soil, it allows the slope to become effective with and within the house. Sixteen steps lead up from the tiny cellar and the entrance area into the main floor, proceeding into a narrow terrace that gives to the south and east. This is half roofed by the upper floor that breaks away from the slope to the north bidding to step out upon a small projecting slope terrace, leading on to the large roof terrace via a pitched roof that covers the staircase.
