City Boids - Molecular Urbanism
Caracas, Venezuela
‘City Boids - Molecular Urbanism’ is an urban research project that explores the relation between urban transformation and self-organization. In a series of four case studies it unfolds the logics of the production of urban space to be derived not from mastering plans but rather to be generated from the unplanned and barely regulated processes like stop-and-go vending, street marketing, developmental housing and post-termination investing. Gaps and failures, voids in space and time, produced and left over by strategic operations, are colonized and infiltrated by those tactical insertions of individuals or small groups that change and restructure the contemporary city. Initiated by the Federal Cultural Foundation of Germany and ccstt.
