Split House
Penal
This single family house is located in a hilly side of Trinidad island. The patio typology, wanted by the client, had been adjusted to fit into the specific plot: a big slope runs from the access road, down to its end. Cars’ access is located on the top of the plot (closed to the street) and it is used to create a distance - and more privacy - to the house and its courtyard. Below the car parking a studio which looks into the courtyard and then through all the living areas of the house. These are two separated buildings which looks into each other; the patio becomes their connection. The house building is a clear geometry with a symmetrical sloped roof. At the ground floor, the living areas. Downstairs, the night areas (4 bedrooms, a toilet and a tv room). All wardrobes, storages or service areas are located along the east façade.
