The project is a proposal of implementation of the Europan 14 winning project. The new quarter will establish relationships between stakeholders at different scales and spanning across sectors (from education to manufacturing, from the institutional to research). FABLINZ is an alternative way of living, working, playing and learning: producing innovation that benefits people, the environment and the economy. FABLINZ will trigger the renaissance of Wienerstrasse and Andreas-Hofer districts, acting as a link between the old town and the XIXc-XXc expansion of the city. FABLINZ aims to foster Living, Leisure, Innovation and Entrepreneurship creating an environment that will bring people and families to live and work in this new centre of Linz, demonstrating that moving in to a well designed sustainable city neighbourhood is an affirmative action leading to a healthier, more productive and creative lifestyle.
