Farmland Road residential development
Costessey
This project consists in a full Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) prepared in support of a planning application for the development of land outside the local plan allocation. The development proposal includes approximately 80 new houses and public open space. The LVIA is intended to be part of an iterative process of project planning and design. After review of the draft LVIA, the design proposals were reviewed with adjustments to the masterplan layout. The layout of the proposed development has been designed to reflect the existing pattern and grain of the local landscape and integrate with the natural topography of the site. The ultimate aim is to reduce the impacts on predicted views from publicly accessible areas. Negative landscape and visual effects have also been avoided through implementation of a green spine carefully planned within the housing matrix.
