G HOUSE
The Plan Award 2015- Renovation- - first prize
The project involves the renovation of an abandoned villa of the beginning of 20th century, in the heart of Como city in Italy. The clients moved from region of Marche where they have always lived between medieval bricks. The perimeter structure of the old house is made of stone and it responds very well to requirement of matter. Therefore there is a material for the "personal memory", bricks, and a material for the "historical memory," the stone. These two memories meet here, generating a tension between past and present.
