(same text included in image) Just as the television was the window onto urbanity for residents of suburbia, the internet is now the new porthole onto the world, replacing one’s engagement with reality with a synthetic digital interface. One may envision a time in the not so distant future when virtual experiences overtake real experiences and our senses, once performing a necessary cognitive dance to transcribe to us the truth of the outside world, atrophy with disuse .
This is where EVERYVILLE steps in, deploying a strategy to stimulate our sensoriums, developing a new relationship between us and our cities. Through a network of sensory-rich experiential spaces in the city, the “real” experience will be invigorated and redefined. EVERYVILLE is an urban typological hybrid which sifts through the urban, suburban, and x-urban models to preserve their vantages while disposing of their insufficiencies. |
