The ‘Heliotropolis’
Imagine a city designed by the movement of people, with buildings that are a living fabric of moving, changing pieces which respond to the users, the location, even the time of day. Imagine a system of economy dispersed throughout the population, with no intention of restricting, but instead allowing the possibility to start on the same plane.
The city itself moves around its people, with spaces organized by user groups, not program, in a heliotropic manner. Similar to a lotus, the city changes over time. Instead of light directing movement, the inhabitants are directors of their city. Heliotropic specific light waves relate to different user groups through color, wavelength, and rate of movement. Each group’s individuality defines the form, density, and tactility of their spaces, which mingle with other groups to create a thriving movement of people and programs.
